Iconic sportswriter Bob Ryan of the Boston Globe joined Downtown on Wednesday to share his thoughts on last night’s ceremony to honor Pedro Martinez, the demise of Boston’s Olympic bid, and Deflategate. Ryan believes Pedro is one of the two best pitchers he ever covered along with Luis Tiant. Ryan also had no problem in the new voting rules within the BBWAA to remove voting rights from those who are 10 years out of covering teams full time and he also discussed Boston’s failed Olympic bid and said that the effort really didn’t have a chance to succeed.
Bob also went on to touch on the latest Deflategate developments and expressed his fatigue about the whole situation. He listed all the numerous parties to blame for this suspension and punishment and said that no other franchise would have been punished like the Patriots did.
