Bruce Pratt was back on Downtown on Wednesday for Sports Lit 101 to talk about another book, this time with Playing With Tigers by George Gmelch. Pratt went into the plot of the book and the background of the author who played minor league baseball in the Detroit Tigers organization. The story details the minor leagues in the 1960s, including baseball names like Jim Leyland. He also talks about how the author tells his own personal story in the pages of the book and Pratt even compared the text to a book version of Slap Shot with Gmelch’s recounting of events.
