UMaine Director of Athletics Karlton Creech joined Downtown to give an update on the status of the UMaine football coaching search. Creech said that they have made the first initial wave of interviews this week and will do a second round before making a final decision. He talked about what qualities he is looking for in a candidate for the position and why they have decided not to have applicants meet with the media after their interviews. Creech also gave credit to the city of Portland and others for bringing the America East women’s basketball tournament to the state starting in the 2017 playoffs.
