Mark Emmert of the Portland Press Herald joined Downtown to talk about the UMaine football team and the upcoming season for the men’s ice hockey team. Emmert discussed the play of the Black Bears in a disappointing loss to Richmond and gave his thoughts on the quarterback situation. He also spoke on the newcomers to the ice hockey team and said that the players are older than most incoming freshmen, which should work well into Red Gendron’s plans to surprise teams in the Hockey East. Emmert also talked about the strong schedule the team faces in the early parts of the season and said that the team should be happy with a 2-2 record after the first four games.
